Three thousand years ago King Solomon, in the book of Proverbs, said “where there is no vision, the people perish.” And friends, as I write this, we recognize that the challenges facing us are those we have not seen in a generation, and the leadership in the Governor’s office has no vision.
I grew up in the 1980s – the Reagan era – when it was “Morning in America.” Gone were the days of inflation and a government-ransacked economy. Sound familiar? America had been reborn, revitalized, and renewed through conservative policymaking. Our possibilities were endless and a clear vision grounded in the freedom and wisdom of America’s founding was secured from sea to shining sea.
But right now in Wisconsin, we are facing those same problems that – when I was growing up – seemed so far away. Grocery store shelves empty, gasoline prices skyrocketing, crime at historic highs, foreign adversaries threatening the foundations of the free world, and inflation at levels not seen in 40 years.
All while an overbearing government forced thousands of businesses to close via illegal lockdowns and crushing mandates. All while the government is taxing and spending billions of dollars they don’t have to pay for liberal pet projects. All while our children are being indoctrinated in politicized classrooms and parents are thrown out of local school board meetings, labeled as “domestic terrorists.” All while Democrat operatives taint the sanctity of our elections and flaunt state law through an apparent combination of incompetence and malfeasance. All because those in the White House and Governor’s Mansion are doing everything they can to tear our state away from the vision our founders held so dear.
That is why I am running to be your next Lieutenant Governor.
Our state needs a strong vision for our future; one in which our communities are safe and our law enforcement is supported, not denigrated by those elected to lead; one in which parents can choose how to educate their children; one in which the public can trust that our elections are administered fairly, transparently, and – at the bare minimum – competently; one in which those in office remember exactly whom they serve: the people who elected them.
That is why I am running to be your next Lieutenant Governor.
I grew up in our great state, and my wife and I proudly raise our five boys here. I’ve led my family’s small business building homes; I’ve served (and still do) our state and nation in the Air National Guard, including four deployments abroad; I’ve led in the state legislature authoring bills guaranteeing universal school choice, protecting the rights of the unborn, advancing our constitutional rights to bear arms and protect free speech, defending our law enforcement, fighting our communist adversaries at home and abroad, and finally eliminating the income tax in Wisconsin once and for all. I’ve fought and won in court against Tony Evers on his illegal lockdowns and efforts to cancel elections; I’ve seen the beauty of our state and what the people of Wisconsin are capable of; and I believe that once again strong leadership can set our state on the right path, correcting the damage this Governor has inflicted these last four years.
That is why I am running to be your next Lieutenant Governor.
When I look at my five young boys, I remember the words of the President I watched lead our nation in a shared vision when I was their age:
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
That, most of all, is why I am running: to guarantee that Roger, Oliver, Theodore, Winston, and William will each grow up free. Free to safely walk in our communities, free to speak their minds, free to work hard and earn their success, free to vote in clean and fair elections, free to be proud of themselves – and proud of America.
They are why I am running to be your next Lieutenant Governor.
