MADISON, Wis. — Ryan Owens, Republican candidate for Attorney General, is proud to announce his statewide law enforcement support. A first-time candidate for office, Owens has taken Josh Kaul to task for his failed leadership on public safety and protecting our freedoms.
“Wisconsin’s law enforcement community is critical to the safety of our state. But Josh Kaul has abandoned our men and women in uniform. Under my administration, we will always guarantee law enforcement a seat at the table, a square deal. They will always receive the respect they have earned.” Ryan Owens said.
Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson outlined his support for Owens recently, writing:
“Wisconsin needs new leadership and a renewed commitment to the rule of law—especially at the Wisconsin Department of Justice. That’s why I strongly support Ryan Owens for Attorney General. He has my full endorsement and I’m going to do everything I can to ensure he is Wisconsin’s next Attorney General. I encourage you all to join me,” wrote Sheriff Severson.
Owens announces his support from law enforcement following his record-breaking fundraising report, in which the Owens campaign raised nearly $309,000 with donations from every county in the state.
These are the latest endorsements for the Owens campaign, which previously announced endorsements from more than twenty Wisconsin legislators, four former Supreme Court Justices, and four previous Wisconsin Assembly Speakers, along with Co-Chairs for all eight Wisconsin Congressional districts.
Owens is a strong supporter of qualified immunity as well as an outspoken advocate for law enforcement. Owens published articles outlining his support on both issues while highlighting Kaul’s failures to work with the law enforcement community.
